street lights. During this, the driveways from Fairlane Street to Jackson Street
will be replaced, so residents will have to park in the street. Letters were
passed out to those affected stating that they will not be able to use the
driveways until they are complete and asphalt has been placed.

This schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen problems or weather.

August 18, 2008
This week we are continuing to place pipe and removing concrete. Dyer is
scheduled to start placing pipe going towards Cobb Creek. H.I.S. is currently
working on removing contaminated material.
There have been a number of vehicles that are driving
through the project that are not local residents or doing business in this
phase. We ask if you are not local residents or have business in
this phase that you take the detour. This would increase productivity and
safety.
For the residents who live on the east side of SR 2 as we proceed with the
installation of the new storm sewer, there will be a temporary closer of their
driveways.
Update 8/11/2008
Dyer Construction is scheduled to begin working on excavating and placing pipe
starting on the south end of town. We are expecting to encounter some
contaminated material under the road. H.I.S. Construction Co. will be here to
remove this material properly.
For the residents who live on the east side of SR 2, as we proceed with
the installation of the new storm sewer, there will be a temporary closure of
their driveways.
Please be careful of equipment and workers if you need to drive though the
jobsite. Avoid the jobsite if at all possible as there will be delays getting
through.
Update 8/4/2008
We plan on closing the road for Phase 4 on or after August 4th.
This phase is from the south town limits to Fairlane Street. The official detour
will be SR2 - I-65-US 231. The first work will consist of Walsh & Kelly
milling out the asphalt. Then Dyer will come in and start doing the pipe work.
This phase is scheduled to take 8 weeks to complete.
Update 6/2/2008
Dyer is working on forming the retaining wall along US 231. Walsh & Kelly has
finished the first 3' of sidewalks. They plan on paving the last 3 layers
starting on or after Thursday the 5th. While they are here, Walsh & Kelly says
they will fix the manholes on phases 2 & 3. Hawk is currently working on placing
the new traffic signal and possibly the new street lights. We are maintaining
access to all the businesses in this area. Thanks for your patience as we work
on this phase. Please be careful of equipment and workers if you need to drive
though the jobsite. We are currently working on some issues that concern what
phase we are going to do next.
Update 5/16/2008
Walsh & Kelly is currently working
on placing concrete curbs and sidewalks. Monday, they are planning to open the
Marathon Gas Station south driveway and construction to their north driveway.
So, you will be able to get to the Marathon station from the south end. The
paving crew will be here after the concrete work is completed.
Dyer Construction is getting the areas behind the sidewalk ready for sod and
excavating for driveways. Slusser's will be here on Monday to continue placing
sod behind the sidewalk and seeding the detention pond.
We are maintaining access to all the businesses in this area. Thanks for your
patience as we work on this phase. This schedule is subject to change due to
unforeseen problems or weather.
Update 4/21/2008
As it turned out the sub-grade material was not stable enough to not have to
undercut the roadbed. We had to go down the extra 18" like we did last year. The
section of SR 2 has been excavated and the stone placed. This week, we are
scheduled to excavate the section on US 231. There is another subcontractor
coming in on Monday to excavate the contaminated material. This part should be
stoned by the end of the week.
For access to all of the businesses affected, go the intersection of SR 2 & SR 8
and Sigler Street and go north.
This schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen problems or weather. Again,
we thank you for your patience and cooperation as we do this phase.
Update 4/14/2008
Monday, Dyer Construction plans on starting the
excavation of the roadbed at the south end by Alyea Street up to the north end
of Phase 6 (Richway Restaurant). We are anticipating that the sub-grade material
will be good enough that we will not have to excavate to the depth that we had
to last year. But when we get close to the old RR tracks section, we will have
to there. Assuming that this is the case, the excavation process should go
quicker.
We will maintain access to all the businesses in this area. This schedule is
subject to change due to unforeseen problems or weather. We thank you for your
patience and cooperation as we do this phase.
Update - 3/31/2008
We are scheduled to close the road for phase 6 tomorrow, March
22nd. Walsh & Kelly will start milling the asphalt on Monday. Dyer might start
working on placing new pipe and structures.
We will maintain access to all the businesses in this area. This
schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen problems or weather. We thank
you for your patience and cooperation as we do this phase.

manhole covers on Main Street that were installed too low will be fixed this
